Opened in 1864, Beckford was probably the most substantial station between Evesham and Ashchurch, with quite extensive freight facilities.  This was partly down to the station effectively being the railhead for Winchcombe at the time of its opening; this would last until the line from Honeybourne to Cheltenham was built, bringing rail services closer to Winchcombe.  Beckford also had a cattle market just to the south of station, and there was also fruit traffic from local orchards.

Unlike the other stations between Evesham and Ashchurch, Beckford was not either not closed or downgraded in the 1950s, and survived until closure of the line in 1963.
